Surf & Turf @ The Edge (Pan Pacific SG): Tuesday night Special

Every Tuesday night, Pan Pacific's Edge pulls off a grand buffet feat: Surf & Turf at Edge really sets out to impress both the seafood and meat lovers with a seemingly endless diversity of premium fusion items!

The aim of the buffet is to showcase the versatility of meat and seafood, with both classic presentations and contemporary interpretations. New and noteworthy highlights that have been specially crafted to fit the theme include the 24-hour Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib topped with Seared Hokkaido Scallops and Spicy Beef Bulgogi Pizza and Shrimps. For the former, the scallops are decent but are clearly outshone by the immensely tasty, almost melt in your mouth beef short rib. The latter is an adventurous Italian-Korean union atop some wonderful white sauce and crispy thin crust, coming close to giving the classic margherita a run for its money. My favourite new dish would have to be the heritage special Wok-fried Fish Noodles with Roasted Pork that its quite simply bursting with flavor and familiarity.

Edge has always been reputed for its tantalizing carvings fit for a king, the best of which have to be Tandoori Salmon with Cucumber Raita, a unique pairing of flavors that work surprisingly well; Slow-roasted Wagyu Rump with Herb Gremolata and Roasted Whole Baby Lamb with Mezza Condiments, both tender and aromatic, excellent exhibitions of meat in its heartiest form. Besides these signatures, Edge's succulent German Pork Knuckle and Local Satay is surely bound to delight! Help yourself to a feast of even more meat at the live grill station, where you can take your pick from Chorizo, Lamb Chops, Marinated Beef, etc, and have it grilled on the spot and delivered to your table.

To complete the Surf & Turf picture, The crustacean on ice section stars only the finest Alaskan King Crab, Fresh Prawns, Queen Scallops, Poached Mussels and Seasonal Oysters. The produce is fresh and in great abundance, a clarion call for all fans of the ocean's catch to eat all they can!

The dessert selection is remarkable... actually borderline ridiculous in its range, offering anything from Creme Brulee to Green Tea/Chocolate Rum/ Passion fruit Soft Chocolate made in house, a D-I-Y waffle station (with 5 different flavors if you want it a la mode, a fondue fountain and mind-blowing local treats like Durian Pengat and Chendol Agar Agar.

The unlimited  servings of this spread of delicacies could hardly be captured by my stomach, let alone in this write-up. Not only will you get sheer bang for your buck in quantity, for $78++ per adult, $39++ per child, one is assured of comprehensive variety and quality. This is one indulgent dining experience that's definitely worth your while.
